Interesting hand between danish pokerplayers Mads Andersen and Philip Helm from the 2006 final table, EPT Copenhagen. Don't play the cards, play the players.. ;)

the art of bluffing....with the best hand

The story REALLY began Pre-Flop. Because Hilm limped in from the SB, it was possible that Anderson had the best hand, since Hilm would've most likely raised with a random Ace or King high. It also helps to know that Hilm is widely regarded as an ultra-LAG. This was a perfect place to make a re-steal, since Anderson was in the BB, and his hand range was virtually unknown and undefined. The 3-Bet on the flop and the Shove All-In on the turn told a consistent story, and THERE'S where the art is

Hilm should of pushed all in after the flop. Atleast he was on a semi-bluff. It's easy for me to suggest that since I know what Andersons hold cards are. Its a different story when your at the table.

Of all the ridiculous comments that it "wasn't a bluff" this one is really brains-for-shit. A value bet is a bet made when the player believes he is more likely to have the best hand than not. Anderson got re-raised on the flop and was more likely to be pushing Hilm off an 8 or trying to represent a) trip 3's b) bigger flush draw. I think Hilm folded thinking Anderson had a bigger flush draw than trips.

it was a bluff, are all of ou retarded? He coiuldnt have thought he had the best hand with queen high he just figured he could represent strength.
