Copenhagen is a wonderful city. I was there two years ago and the people were very friendly (and didn't seem to mind that I was mispronouncing it as the song does). It's a short flight from Amsterdam and a short train ride from Lund (Sweden). Very clean, good food, and nice people -- would definitely visit again.

I've heard tell the Danes aren't crazy to hear people pronounce it copen-haw-gen, because it's a bit too close to the way the Germans pronounced it after they invaded Denmark during World War II.

In Danish it's pronounced "Ku-ben-how-en" Kobenhavn is the Danish spelling, with a slanted line through the "o"...
